Daria Trenina

Attorney

Daria Trenina represents clients in complex litigation, with extensive experience before immigration courts and human rights bodies.


Before joining Musaev & Associates, PC, Daria practiced law at various firms in the United States. In Russia, she served as an attorney at Musaev & Associates Firm of Advocates while simultaneously holding the position of Head of Legal for the Right to Asylum project, a joint initiative of the prominent Russian NGO Institute of Human Rights and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. Currently, she serves as the project's legal advisor. Under her leadership, the project achieved landmark judgments in the ECHR, safeguarding individuals from forcible removal and persecution.


From 2006 to 2021, Daria was a teaching fellow at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University), specializing in Russian criminal law and procedure, the European human rights protection system, and ethics. Additionally, she served as a project manager at MGIMO’s European Studies Institute, organizing numerous international events and professional training programs with participation from the ECHR and the Council of Europe (CoE) General Secretariat.


Daria is a recognized expert for the Council of Europe and has tutored several educational programs within the framework of the CoE project "Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals." She adapted a UNHCR course on Asylum and the European Convention on Human Rights for a Russian-speaking audience.


Daria holds a Bachelor’s and Master of Laws degree from MGIMO University earned a Master of Laws degree from the University of Dayton School of Law, and received a Certificate of Completion in Introduction to U.S. Immigration Law from American University Washington College of Law.
